| After a "year of records," Airbus sets its sights on continued industry leadership in 2012 17 JANUARY 2012 |
| Following a record-breaking commercial performance last year, Airbus will continue its industry leadership in 2012 with further production increases for the A320, A330 and A380 families, as well as an expansion of the employee count. This outlook was provided by Airbus executives at the company's traditional New Year-opening press conference on 17 January in Hamburg, Germany – where President and CEO Tom Enders also outlined Airbus' 2011 commercial results. During the 12-month period, Airbus logged a total of 1,608 commercial gross orders (representing 56 per cent of the global market share by value), resulting in 1,419 net orders (54 per cent of market share by value) when cancellations were taken into account. |
