Otokar participates in IDEF 2025 with 10 armored vehicles

Otokar, largest land platforms exporter of Turkiye, is having a strong presence at IDEF 2025 International Defence Industry Fair held at the Istanbul Expo Center between July 22-27. 

Aiming to expand its success in land systems on a global scale, Otokar is exhibiting COBRA II, ARMA, TULPAR, URAL and AKREP II vehicles with different turret and mission equipments from its wide product range.

At the Otokar booth in IDEF, a new configuration COBRA II vehicle to be produced in Romania is on display for the first time, while the version of the TULPAR equipped with a Leonardo 120 mm turret is being exhibited for the first time in Turkiye.

Otokar, a Koç Group company, will once again take part in the IDEF 2025 International Defence Industry Fair with its world-renowned armored vehicles. 

At IDEF 2025, where government and private sector officials from all over the world meet, Otokar will once again highlight its superior capabilities in wheeled & tracked land platform and turret systems with its wide product range and growing global success.

COBRA II 4x4 Romanian Vehicle - with Open Turret 
 

Being a solid long term supplier of NATO and the United Nations, Otokar is participating in this year's event at the Istanbul Expo Center with a total of 10 vehicles. 

While Otokar's COBRA II 4x4 armored vehicle, produced under the Romanian contract, is being displayed for the first time, the TULPAR Tracked Armored Fighting Vehicle with a Leonardo 120 mm Turret is also being exhibited for the first time in Turkiye. 

In addition to the vehicles in the stand, three different vehicles from Otokar's ARMA family will be on display in the Aselsan stand.

TWO DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONCOBRA II IN OTOKAR STAND

The COBRA II, which has successfully served in many missions including border protection, internal security and peacekeeping operations in Turkiye and export markets, and has been in active service with more than 20 end-users around the world, will take part in IDEF with two different variants. 

COBRA II, which proved its international success once again with the Romanian order, stands out with its high level of protection, superior mobility, large internal volume and payload capacity. 

COBRA II provides high protection against ballistic, mine, and IED threats. With high power to weight ratio COBRA II delivers high performance. The combat proven vehicle is operated by armies in different parts of the world on toughest terrain and climate conditions.

Being suitable for the integration of wide range of weapon and mission equipment options, COBRA II is successfully in service for border protection as well as internal security and peacekeeping missions.

The modular structure of COBRA II also makes the vehicle a flexible platform to be used as an Armored Personnel Carrier, Anti-Tank Weapons Platform, Reconnaissance & Surveillance Platform, CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle, Command Control Vehicle, Recovery Vehicle and Medical Evacuation Vehicle.

At IDEF 2025, COBRA II will be among the remarkable products of the exhibition with its Romanian vehicle configuration with an Open Turret and another configuration with a 25 mm MIZRAK turret. 

In particular, the 25 mm MIZRAK turret stands out as a critical innovation in terms of mission effectiveness and tactical superiority in field operations by combining the superior firepower provided by the high caliber with its compact and lightweight design.

MULTI-WHEELED MODULAR ARMORED VEHICLE: ARMA

ARMA, Otokar's multi-wheeled modular armored vehicle with high tactical and technical capabilities, will be on display with two different variants and five different equipment at IDEF.

In addition, the ARMA 8x8 KORKUT Low Altitude Air Defense Vehicle, the ARMA 6x6 PUHU Mobile V/UHF Electronic Support (ED) System Vehicle and the ARMA 6x6 HPEM DRAGON Anti-Drone High Power Electromagnetic System Vehicle will be on display at the Aselsan stand.

ARMA, featuring superior mobility, high mine and ballistic protection, offers medium and high caliber weapons system integration options to serve in peacekeeping and humanitarian missions in the most challenging terrain and climate conditions. 

ARMA, which is also available with an amphibious kit, impresses with its high combat payload and spacious interior. 

ARMA family, which can be equipped with different weapon and turret systems in response to different requirements, can be adapted to diverse missions with variants such as Armored Personnel Carrier, Armored Combat Vehicle, Command Control Vehicle, Recovery Vehicle, Medical Evacuation Vehicle and CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle. 

Currently more than 650 ARMA vehicles serve in the inventories of nine users in five countries.

A POWERFUL SOLUTION TO ASYMMETRIC THREATS: ARMA II

ARMA II 8x8 Armored Vehicle, developed by Otokar considering the conventional combat conditions as well as the most common asymmetrical threats today. ARMA II offers best-in-class ballistic, mine and improvised explosive device (IED) protection and optimal terrain capability. 

With a maximum Gross Vehicle Weight of 40 tons, ARMA II comes with higher payload and improved protection, and can be configured for the integration of heavy weapon systems up to 120 mm caliber. 

ARMA II is equipped with 6-cylinder, turbodiesel, 720 HP engine.

ARMA II offers a platform suitable for many different missions; from armored combat vehicle to armored personnel carrier; from command and control vehicles to air defense missions. 

With the extra interior volume provided by the expanded hull, ARMA II is the most superior vehicle in its class with the modularity to operate as a maintenance and repair vehicle or an ambulance.

TULPAR TO BE EXHIBITED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TURKIYE WITH LEONARDO 120 MM TURRET

TULPAR stands out with mobility, high firepower, and survivability features. TULPAR is designed as a multi-purpose tracked vehicle with variants ranging from 28,000kg to 45,000kg to fully satisfy the modern armies’ existing and future requirements.

TULPAR comes in several variants including but not limited to Light/medium tank, Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Recovery Vehicle, Mortar Vehicle, Air Defense Weapon Carrier, Fire Support, Medical Evacuation having common subsystems. Tested in the toughest climates and on rough terrain conditions, TULPAR boosts high ballistic and mine protection with modular armor.


In addition to its high fire and destruction power, with its superior mobility, TULPAR can serve in different combat environments from urban, built-up areas and light bridges to woodlands and tough terrains, on especially soft muddy surfaces where main battle tanks are unable to operate due to their heavy weights. 

At IDEF 2025, TULPAR is on display in two different configurations, equipped with the 30 mm MIZRAK Turret and the Leonardo HITFACT MkII 120 mm Turret.

EYES OF STEALTH ON THE BATTLEFIELD: AKREP II

AKREP II, built on Otokar’s initial AKREP developed in 1990s, is designed as an armored reconnaissance and surveillance vehicle and a large caliber weapon platform. 

Combining high firepower and survivability in a low silhouette, the AKREP II meets the current and future needs of modern armies by accommodating turrets up to 90 mm cannon.

The four-wheel drive system and steerable rear axle of AKREP II greatly enhances the maneuverability capability of the vehicle. The vehicle has a superior mobility and handling capabilities in all terrain conditions no matter mud, snow or puddles. 

Its compact design, high level of both kinetic and mine protection, and the U-type power package placed at the rear of the vehicle make AKREP II a very special and competitive platform especially where the maneuverability is crowned with crab steering.

As a multi-role vehicle suitable for different types of missions, AKREP II provides effective firepower without compromising survivability as it can accommodate up to 90 mm caliber turrets. 

AKREP II can also be configured for the missions like surveillance, reconnaissance, air defense, forward observer, etc. 

At IDEF 2025, the AKREP II 4x4 High Caliber Weapon Platform Vehicle is on display with the John Cockerill 90 mm Turret System.

BUILT FOR THE TOUGHEST MISSIONS: COBRA II MRAP

One of the vehicles in the Otokar stand at IDEF 2025 is the COBRA II Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle (COBRA II MRAP). 

It is developed to ensure high survivability in extreme risk areas. The vehicle provides superior protection for the crew against ballistic, mine and IED threats while maintaining high cross-country mobility in battlefield conditions with its independent suspension system. It is specifically designed to provide superior reliability, ease of maintenance.

With its modular design, COBRA II MRAP provides high payload and spacious internal space for integration of weapon systems and mission equipment. The vehicle can be configured with alternative seating layouts for up to 11 personnel with 3 or 5 door configurations as per specific user requirements.

URAL 4x4 FOR INTERNAL SECURITY MISSIONS

The URAL platform, a unique product of Otokar’s innovative approach, is designed as a versatile and modular solution to meet the requirements of different users for 4x4 tactical vehicles in various configurations. 

With its modular structure, URAL platform can be easily adapted to different missions’ equipment, weapon systems, and configuration requirements. URAL is currently being used in various missions globally and in Turkiye. URAL Armored Personnel Carrier version will be displayed in IDEF 2025.
